The final details have just been added to a dramatic new family entertainment center in Yuma, AZ. The Fun Factory features many new creations from the artists at SceneWorks. This fun center’s theme embraces the local “Old West” heritage of the past, but creatively blends the repercussions of a natural disaster to the addition of their second 18 hole miniature golf course, bumper boat lagoon and surrounding areas.
As you will see in the images below and on our website (www.sceneworksinc.com), the park’s first 18 hole miniature golf course represents Yuma as if it were in the late 1800’s. This course is dotted with scenes that include the Fort Yuma prison, a mission church, a Old West street façade, and The Painted Pony Saloon 18th hole. Unfortunately, the proverbial natural disaster strikes the Fun Factory and turns the property into carnage, thus introducing a new theme. The second 18 holes of miniature golf reflect many of the same scenes from the first course, but with a damaged flair. This course also plays host to a watertower with special effects and a trimaran watercraft.
Just beyond the miniature golf course areas of the park, lies a very impressive bumper boat lagoon. Inspired from the movie, WaterWorld, the façade and surrounding buildings create a unique environment to which both the bumper boat driver and spectator can enjoy interactivity with the leaking pipes, overflowing fuel tank and a host of other hidden treasures on the façade walls. A combination of woodwork, metalwork, and a bit of artistic touch were all tapped to produce this creative endeavor. Enjoy some photos of the project below.
